A new national web portal connecting volunteers with dementia clinical trials was created by the NHS.

The barriers to using it were: lack of awareness, lack of time, concern over what research involves and what it can really achieve.

Solution

Extensive research told us that the name of the service needed to be super clear: Join Dementia Research tested the best as it really did what it said on the tin.

We created a visual identity and web design that was engaging and positive – balancing optimism with authority.

Impact

Incredibly 5,000 people registered their interest in participating in dementia research in the first month.

Around 70,000 people have now registered with the service – and joined one of the many dementia research studies on offer.

Their involvement could save many lives in the future.
